Located in a former hair salon, the building had to be completely gutted and renovated to become the inviting, modern café that looks and feels welcoming and warmly hospitable to customers, whether they’re there to pick up take-out or to sit for a while. We are so happy with the location we chose. “This is a great area, with a lot of wonderful people. “We wanted our café to be located in our own community,” Raisa said. Illya and Raisa found the “perfect spot” to purchase for their dream business at the beginning of the nation’s quarantine in March 2020. She has enjoyed baking ever since and also taught Illya the art of baking. Almost all women there are taught domestic skills, baking among them. She graduated high school in Ukraine and moved here with her family in 1997, speaking very little English. ![]() Raisa also works full time as a business analyst at WSFS headquarters in Wilmington. He’s currently employed full-time as a steel boiler technician at Power House Equipment Company in New Jersey. Dad Illya is a 2002 alum of Ridley, a member of the very first class to graduate from the then-new Ridley High School. They’ve been married for 17 years and have a son Michael, a freshman at Ridley High School who works part-time at Ardour. Raisa and Illya, both natives of Ukraine, met at Ukrainian Evangelical Baptist Church of Crum Lynne in Ridley Township.
